GIVEAWAY NOW CLOSED! THANKS FOR ENTERING!
Hi Lovelies
So what happened on Day 4?
Well Wednesday marked one week since my last "top up" and at least a day or two over that first week results in the "medical" term Remicade Hangover. However the hop was looming so I pushed through with the help of extra steroids here and there. The 'roids didn't help a lot, but I definitely felt my batteries draining fast. The video I was supposed to shoot on Thursday just didn't happen. "I'll do it Friday" she said. "BAHAHAHAHAAAA" the weather said!
We often get "severe weather" warnings and they're usually rather anticlimactic. My joints certainly felt way way waaay more achy on Thursday night and the strong winds didn't sound any worse than before, but when I opened the curtains I was greeted to this view (looking to the left of my driveway). It actually was rather minor compared to other places in the neighbourhood which had trees down on the road and other suburbs had much more dramatic damage.
There was to be no video shooting on Friday either. The sound of chainsaws punctuated by emergency sirens went on aaaall day.If the sound of icky birds is picked up by the camera, can you imagine that as background noise?
Wasn't really an issue since we had NO POWER from 8am. At one point the estimate was TWELVE HOURS! It ended up restored sometime late afternoon much to my relief, but mentally and physically I was so drained I didn't even scrapbook without the pressure of filming.
On Saturday I finally felt as though I was clawing (see what I did there?š¹) my way back.
I managed one layout which I'll share in the coming days. Today is Sunday and after a Zoom meeting I'm finally going to get my video on for "May I Scraplift You" (fashionably late as usual š¤¦š¼♀️)
I bet you thought I was going to leave you without any Cat Content (besides my Hello Kitty brooch in the first pic š»)
I figured soaking my paintbrush in a cup on the microwave would be out of everyone's way. I didn't account for the indomitable Fitz. He jumps up to drink from the filtered water tap to the right of the microwave (hoomin operated of course).
But why drink filtered water when you can drink purple sparkly water? š¹š¤¦š¼♀️š¤·š¼♀️
(Note his white chumbles in the reflection!š»š»š»)

ReplyDeleteSilly Fitz!
Sounds like your day 4 was a cat-astrophe! I hope you are feeling better!
We had a big storm here too a few days ago and got just under 9 inches of rain in 24 hours. I was knee deep trying to help clear out a culvert that was blocked. :(
Oh wow you definitely had quite the time clearing a knee deep culvert!
DeleteOh no, I'm so sorry you got hit with the double whammy of not feeling well and then a power outage! Either one is bad enough, but together is the pits. Thank you for that photo of your Fitz drinking his purple water, lol. Gotta love that reflection too! Hoping you start to feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The whole neighbourhood was using 4G so it was sooooo sloooow and I almost went to sit in the car and charge my phone when it went flat. Fitz's paint water fixation is just one of his crazy weird habits!
DeleteI'm glad you didn't have any direct storm damage, but losing your power is never fun. Your picture of Fitz stealing sparkly purple water more than makes up for not posting a video. I could look at him for hours!
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen. Me too! It could have been so much worse. Fitz manages to make any day better, though!
DeleteI hope you are feeling much better! It's funny how cats know just what to get into!
ReplyDeleteI also love their soft little ears.
DeleteI love rubbing their ears too! Pheephs likes it more than Fitzy, but they both allow it.
DeleteI hope you are feeling better. Cat ears somehow appealed to me, LOL ?!
ReplyDeleteThank you! And I agree about the ears! They tell so much about their mood and are so soft and nice to rub.
DeleteI hope you are better!
ReplyDeleteyour cat looks adorable!
Thanks Fiki! Fitz is quite a character!
DeleteWell what a week you
ReplyDeletehave had! Hope you are
feeling better and everything
is getting back to where
it needs to be.
Carla from Arizona
Spring is notoriously unpredictable here, but yes things are back to their baseline level of crazy! lol
DeleteHope you are doing better!! Prayers sent your way. <3
ReplyDeleteAnd of course kitty wants sparkly water. Duh. LOL
Thanks Becca! Fitz seems to have a radar for any kind of WET medium - paint, pastes, sprays. I frequently hear one of the boys ask something like: "why does Fitz have gold feet?"
DeleteI am so sorry you have to go through this, Alex. Sending gentle hugs across the miles! I imagine you have your ups and downs, so I hope you have more good days than bad. Looks like it was a miserable week all around. I am very familiar with power outages and severe weather, and they are awful. I hope today is a better day for you. Oh, Fitz, that's not your water!
ReplyDeleteDear Alex, you are such a trooper!! I am in awe of how much you accomplish and the joy you radiate even with the health challenges you face. You are a hero!!
ReplyDeleteFitz is so silly drinking that paintbrush water....leave it to a cat!
So glad you and your family are safe through that terrible storm!
Hey this is the same question....are you testing me to see if I remember what I said before??? lol.. My favorite part of a cat is the purr and the fur! Sweet.
You are so lovely and generous to offer blog candy. My entry is #199.
Thank you so much for partnering with me as a guest designer and joining in the fun at the 2021 Cat Lovers Hop!!
