The Digis for this challenge were adorable! Although the Japanese Cherry Blossom Festival is passed, the little girl and blossoms were a nod to that. Unfortunately time contraints meant colouring her wasn't an option, I decided to use the images of the individual sakura flowers.
This is where several ideas collided at once.
1. They'd look lovey (and blossom like) all layered up
2. Instead of printing on paper or cardstock, I could use the Foil Quill in the Silhouette and save some steps (although I grossly underestimate the time it took!)
3. I remembered Paper 24 in Paige Evans' Pick Me Up Collection featured an arrary of wide stripes going from purple and red to pale pink. Using that would mean I could just use a single sheet!
4. I still have some of Basic Grey's Konnichiwa Collection which would made a very cute background. It did indeed and one 12x12 sheet got me 4 card fronts designed to go on a 6x6 card base.
I went with rose gold foil, but a slightly wrong setting at the beginning meant less than ideal results. And my non compos mentis state in the morning had me cut apart the paper and put it back togeter in an order that was easier for my undercaffeinated brain to process. Even then I kinda messed up some placement, BUT I felt placing partial blossoms off the edge would look quite nice.

Once I cut them out (I opted to fussy cut rather than have the silhouette do it after running for 2 or 3 hours by that stage) I layered them up with just a tiny dot of repositionable adhesive then dotted them around the card fronts. After that I machine stitched through them.
I used Permanent Glue Dots to attach the fronts to the bases since the thread on the back requires an adhesive with more oomph than your standard dot roller!
I left little tails of thread as I often do and finished off with some gems which had been languishing in my stash. They were adhesive, but sitting on thread I wasn't taking any chances and used Micro Glue Dots to keep them secure especially since I wanted to gently tease up the layers of the sakura blossoms to give them the dimension I imagined.
I left the cards without a sentiment since I don't know who will receive them and for what occasion, but I will definitely use them.
The rose gold is so much prettier and shinier than the photos are conveying and I did like the way that I could split the scene in the pattern paper into 4 without making it really obvious.
Love and all the pink things!
Stunning results even if it was with a decaffeinated brain, Love them, they look very elegant and gorgeous.
