If you read my last post, you'll know Saturday was so busy it was laughable!
I decided my mashup card would do really well for this challenge since the sponsor is an adhesive sponsor so we can use whichever images we like.
It began as a sort of joke and naturally I never say no to a challenge!
I was desperate for the new release of Star Wars stamps from Ink Road, but since I don’t yet have them, I used the "Galactic Adventures" stamp set from Kindred stamps for an image of Darth Vader. I used Copic Markers and I can tell you black on black is really hard to colour!
The natural backdrop is a galaxy background. Here’s a link to one I did previously. It seems to only be on Instagram so maybe I didn't blog it. π€·
My next source of inspiration came from a Katzelkraft sentiment which in its original form reads: “Come to the Dark Side, We have Coffee”. Since Katzelkraft stamps come unmounted, it made it even easier to cut them apart.
I have also seen this sentiment applied to crafting, so I cut apart an Echo Park stamp set to isolate the word “crafts”. I could have masked if I was just stamping, but I needed to heat emboss to get it to show up on the galaxy background. My spacing isn’t ideal, but never mind. I believe the ampersand came from an older Citrus Twist Kits set.
The tiny coffee cup and paintbrush light sabre are both from The Ink Road.
Since Darth had his hands on his hips, I coloured “replacement” hands from another character to grip the objects in a slightly more realistic manner. DV lose a hand/arm more than once I believe. When art imitates art, hey? π€£π€£π€£
Not ideal positioning for the light sabre/brush, but oh well. In fact if I had turned it upside down, the ferrule of the paint brush looks kinda like the handle of a light sabre, no?
I’m afraid I don’t have time for a blow-by-blow tutorial for the galaxy background today. If this s something that interests you, drop me a comment and I’ll try to include one when the timing is appropriate.
Here's a close up!
