Card 4 unofficially for the Coffee Lovers Hop

So the Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Blog hop officially finished yesterday.  As promised I'm going to try and keep making all the things (or at least some of the things since my Silhouette is on strike 🙄).  Giveaway CLOSED
Day 1 Post for an extra entry is HERE
Day 2 Post for an extra entry is HERE
Day 3 Post for an extra entry is HERE

Link to the Coffee Lovers Blog Hop is HERE.  It's closed for new entries, but you can still view all the projects there.

So what are we doing today then? 🤷

Well...I have an awesome Picket Fence Studios stamp set with the best.sentiment.ever (or one of the best anyway)

It's pretty big and I had no inspo with it all in one piece.

I thought I could stamp small coffee cups (CHECK ✅),

undies (and you know you're dedicated crafter when you need an underpants stamps and you actually HAVE one (CHECK ✅)).

Oddly no modern looking mobile phone.  Just an old school rotary phone.

What's a girl to do? 🤷🤷🤷

Not sure how I came up with the idea, but one thought led to another and I started by raiding the fashion themed collections by Carta Bella and Echo Park.  Nothing relevant in EP, but CB had potential and reminded me of some retro Authentique collections.  I cut apart the relevant cards and removed the bits I didn't need.

A bit of sneaky layering to hide the craters and rough hand cutting of the sentiment.  Cutting between those ascenders and descenders was a tad hairy!

Since we were going retro, a takeaway coffee cup wasn't going to cut it so I used one from the Picket Fences set and of course my Lawn Fawn undies which I ended up stamping on pattern since that line of the sentiment couldn't be cut wide enough to accommodate them on the cream cardstock.

The phone sentiment I put near the image of the rotary phone anyway.  No other option, really.

The coffee bean b/g is from the recent EP coffee release!  It's a light cream rather than white and plain enough to work with the images.  Stuck to the card base and finished!..wait...I was going to stitch! 🙈

Sure I could still do it, but I hate having anything on the front of a card show through on the card base, so I peeled it off and stitched.

Just a few old school rhinestones to finish. ➡

I can't tell you for certain whether I'll get another card done before the close of the giveaway but I'll do my best.  If I do, it will be up in the next 18-24 hours and giveaway closes approx 12 hours after
that.

  1. Oh my gosh, this is such a fun card! I love all the retro elements...and the panty stamp makes me laugh. I would probably spend hours looking for it and never find it! As for how many cups of coffee a day...probably too many. I used to drink up to 6 big mugs of coffee a day when I was working but now that I'm retired I make do with 3-4...haha!

    1. A girl after my own heart! I probably have about that much too - or a bit less and supplemented with Diet Coke! The panty stamp is from Lawn Fawn in a set with socks and a washing machine. I mean who owns a panty stamp, right?? lol

  2. What a fabulously fun card this is! And so creative.
I would love to drink more coffee than I do, but I stick
to only 2 (and sometimes 3 if we go to Starbucks). I like
a bit of flavored creamer and I'm trying to watch my sugar
intake soooo … I try to be good. lol

    1. Thanks Becca! Can you believe I've only has Starbucks TWICE? We don't have one nearby, but a big shopping mall near my sister's house recently got one so...

  3. Very fun card! Love the stitching detail and the cute undies!
I'm actually more of an iced tea drinker, and I have a couple of glasses a day. If I head to Starbucks, I get a mocha for a splurge! In cold weather I like a hot mocha, but if the weather is good, iced mocha is my preference!

  4. This card has me in giggles and I love the images and stamps that you used. I am actually not drinking much coffee right now because I'm expecting our third baby this month, but I do love my hot cocoa with whipped cream. yum!

  6. I love, love, love the retro imagery on this coffee card! So many cute sayings too! I too love mixing retro and modern - so fun! Although I love making coffee cards, I can no longer drink any coffee due to sleep problems, but I drink lots of herbal tea, probably 3-4 cups a day. No caffeine, no calories, and a nice hot drink to keep me warm - it's cold here! My favourite is Chocolatey Chai! P.S. I already follow your blog, your FB, and your IG but I don't spend any time on FB or IG. Wishing you a wonderful day and thank you for the awesome giveaway - I've got my eye on the 2nd prize! Can't wait to see your card!

    1. You are lovely! Thank you! I love chai too. I need my caffeine to get through the day, but I also have terrible sleep problems so I have to stop early afternoon. I always love reading your comments so thank you!

  7. Wow! Vintage look is one of my fave style! This card is really cool!!!
During winter days I use to drink about two or three cup of teas a day and a couple of hot chocolates in a week. During summer time I love ice tea and I drink a lot during the day.
